ITL 305 - Dante’s la Divina Commedia I Study of the Commedia, a single poem subdivided into three parts: Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso. The progress of the poem is measured by Dante’s encounters with personalities in his voyage of ethical inquiry. As we read the Divina Commedia, we will also study the world of Florentine politics during Dante’s time, as well as the mythological and the classical world from which Dante drew many of his allegories.
