CSD 579 - Introduction to Cognitive Rehabilitation and Brain Injury Introduction to the science and practice of cognitive rehabilitation in acute and post-acute brain injury, including: pathophysiology of the two most common types of brain injury (i.e. traumatic injury and stroke; neuroanatomy and cognitive structure of four different cognitive constructs (i.e., memory, executive functions, awareness, attention); approaches to cognitive rehabilitation; applied and practical strategies in the rehabilitation of cognitive-communication deficits; neurobehavioral deficits and management strategies following brain injury; community re-entry issues.
