PHL 317 - Modern Political Philosophy The course examines major figures in modern political philosophy, addressing such issues as the origins of government, private property, and the market, as well as the ideals of individual liberty, equality, and toleration. Readings include selections from Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, Smith, Burke, Mill, Wollstonecraft, and Marx. Course Codes: BR. Prereq: PEQ in Social Science, or HIS.Q 103 and PHL.Q 101.
