ENGL 341 - Race and Ethnicity in Media Media representations of race and ethnicity may reflect society but also have a hand in shaping it as well. This class encourages students to be critical of media representations of race and ethnicity. We will explore the historical changes in media portrayals, question if and how people of various races and ethnicities are portrayed in the media, and exercise our own critical skills in dissecting such images. While this class focuses on race and ethnicity some of the readings and discussions will also involve issues of class and gender as these are necessarily intertwined. Course Codes: BHR.
