HHS 110 - Outdoor Emergency Care

Specific training needed to handle outdoor medical emergencies. Following the curriculum developed by the National Ski Patrol, this course provides students with an understanding of the causes of outdoor emergencies, the ability to recognize when such emergencies exist, and assessment protocols and treatment options for coping with those emergencies. Students who complete the final written and final practical examinations with grades of 80% or better, and who complete professional level CPR/AED certification are eligible for National Ski Patrol Outdoor Emergency Care certification.

Satisfies Health & Wellness requirement. Additional course fee required. Normal cycle offering: Fall
