RES 250G - PII Islam & Global Issues

(Perspectives II Global course) Interdisciplinary approach. Emphasis on global issues Muslims face today: extremism, violence, terrorism, the role of contemporary Muslim women. Explores the religious and spiritual dimension of Islam: sacred literature, belief system, pillars, rituals and legal codes. Focus on political, historical and cultural heritage of Islam as well as its relations with other religions and communities.
