HIS 310 - PII African American History From 1619 - Present (Perspectives II course) This course surveys African American history, culture and politics from the 1619, when the first Africans were indentured in colonial Virginia, to the present struggles over issues of black incarceration and civil rights. Students will learn about major figures, explore movements such as abolition, the Harlem Renaissance and the struggle for civil rights, and connect contemporary political issues in African American life to their historical origins.
Prerequisites & Notes Adv Codes: BR. Prereq: PEQ in History. Multicultural Studies Minor course.
