CHM 251 - Organic Chemistry I The relationship between structure and properties of organic compounds is emphasized with a focus on stereochemistry, spectroscopy, nomenclature, organic functional groups, acid-base chemistry, reaction kinetics and thermodynamics. The reactions of carbonyl-containing compounds and their relevance to biological application are emphasized.
