MUS 220 - Rock Music Theory and Composition


Topics include the theoretical characteristics and stylistic elements of a number of various rock genres beginning with the early 1950s up through the present. Rock genres analyzed include the blues, doo-wop, folk rock, art rock, and hip-hop. Students will transcribe cover tunes and compose songs in a stylistically appropriate manner.
