COMM 534 - The Rhetoric of Humor This course focuses on examples of mediated humor and the ideologies they advance. Throughout this course, students will learn about theories of humor motivation (what makes people laugh) and read rhetorical criticism of humorous texts. Students will be encouraged to think critically about how humorous texts invite particular readings and to develop such arguments in their own writing.
