MED 504 - Issues in Elementary General Music

The course will provide opportunities for graduate students and practicing music teachers to discuss and investigate the philosophical and psychological foundations behind elementary general music methodologies such as Orff-Schulwerk, Kodaly, Dalcroze, and Gordon. The course also includes: a survey of teaching materials (books, software); an examination of research studies; an overview of early childhood music teaching techniques; and World Music Drumming.
