CHM 251 - Organic Chemistry I The relationship between structure and properties of organic compounds is emphasized with a focus on stereochemistry, spectroscopy, nomenclature, organic functional groups, acid-base chemistry, and reaction kinetics and thermodynamics. An introduction to substitution and elimination reactions at sp3 hybridized carbons finishes the term.
