PTR 650 - Physical Therapy Across Health Care Settings

This course is designed for students with little prior knowledge of the health care system, and provides students with an overview of the U.S. health care system, including topics such as health insurance, federal and state regulations, and systems for reimbursement. Historical, political, and legislative influences on the system are discussed. In the second half of the course, through participation in physical therapy off-site clinics, with the supervision of licensed physical therapists, students apply the concepts of health care in a practical setting.
