THA 216 - Improvisation for Actors


This is a theatre course designed to provide the student advanced training in body movement, voice technique, stage presence, spontaneity, acting techniques, and character development. The students will focus on overcoming distractions of intellect to springboard into the intuitive nature of improvisation. In a needed safe space, students will experiment with exercises that awaken a sense of self in order to express ourselves, each other and the unknown. Course Codes: AC. Prereq: THA*140 required; one dance class is recommended. Section 01 is open only to Acting majors. Other sections open to Acting, MTHA, and Theatre Arts majors; others by instructor permission.
