SWK 309G - Human Rights and Justice


Examines historical and theoretical perspectives on human rights; analyzes the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its effects within the global community. Analyzes justice as a multidimensional concept and explores related social change strategies. Explores how global social structures shape lives by exploring relationships between social systems and the concepts of equity and equality. Supports active involvement in advancing human rights to promote justice locally and globally. Course Codes: ABR. Prereqs: PEQ in Social Sciences. Women and Gender Studies course.
