ENGL 341 - Representation in Media

(DEIB) Media representations of race, age, gender, ethnicity, nationality, ability, and/or class may reflect society, but also have a hand in shaping it. Throughout the semester, we explore the historical changes in media portrayals and how people are portrayed in the media before, exercising our own critical skills in dissecting such images and their impact on politics, policy, and our understanding of the world. Course Codes: BHR. Cross-listed with COMM*341. Prerequisite: English/Literature or Social Science PEQ. Women and Gender Studies course. DEIB-designated course.
