HHS 402 - Child Life: Theory, Practice, and the Profession

Provides an overview of the child life profession including theoretical foundation, scope of practice, pathway to the profession and certification; examination of the standards, competencies, and code of ethics. Analysis of impact of illness on infants, children, youth and families; advances knowledge and skill in evidence-based practice including therapeutic play and preparation for medical procedures. Prerequisites: PSY.Q*110.
