CSD 532 - Seminar: Voice Disorders


Describes the anatomical and physiological bases of voice production; discusses differential diagnosis and therapy for phonatory and upper airway disorders in both children and adults as well as habilitation of voice for special populations such as transgender voice, professional voice and singing voice therapies. An emphasis is placed on understanding the function and roles of the interprofessional team, including the speech-language pathologist, laryngologist, physical therapist, psychologist, patient, and family. Off-site clinical observation of voice treatment is a required part of the class to be scheduled with the instructors at the beginning of the semester.
