Honors Program - Minor

The Honors Program at Nazareth College engages a community of student-scholars in an interdisciplinary program of study in order to foster a commitment to ongoing intellectual curiosity, build leadership in local and global communities, and develop the skills and knowledge to address the complex issues facing our world.

Students need to maintain a 3.5 GPA to continue in the program. See full description of the GPA Requirement and Probation Policy.

Honors Program Requirements

​Track Options

Students choose one or more tracks from those listed below.

Research Scholar

Develop expertise in research and writing, culminating in an original interdisciplinary thesis, or creative research project

Engagement Scholar

Make significant impacts to the community by designing and planning a community-focused capstone project.

  • Upper level (300 and above) service learning/community-focused courses or clinical/practicum - 6 credits
  • Sustained Community Engagement (co-curricular)
  • Service Trip (co-curricular)

Global Scholar

Engage deeply with global communities, research, and create a globally-focused project or thesis.

  • Study Abroad - Fall, Spring or Summer term (minimum 5 weeks)
  • Intermediate Foreign Language - (2 courses above intro level) 
  • Upper level (300 and above) global courses - (at Nazareth or abroad - 6 credits)
