Dance - Minor

The Dance Minor consists of a balance of liberal arts dance studies, production/performance experience, and immersion in a variety of dance techniques. To complete the Dance Minor, students must take a minimum of 18 credits total. There is flexibility within the Electives to enable students to focus their studies according to interests and schedule.

Total combined course credit hours must equal 18.

Required Courses


Minimum of 1 Theatre/Production/Performance Lab (THL) and/or DAN 242 (Dance Performance & Repertory)

Dance Studies/Liberal Arts Electives


Selected courses below (200 level and higher) can also be Integrated Studies (IS) choices.

Dance Technique Electives


Minimum of 11 credits in dance technique courses. Students must choose from at least 3 different styles.
*Note - courses are open only to Dance and Musical Theatre majors/minors; open to non-majors with departmental approval.
