The Master of Science degree in Management is designed to facilitate the professional development of individuals currently in management positions and to provide in depth study for individuals aspiring to move into management. The program consists of 33 credit hours of core and elective study and builds upon the student’s academic and professional experience. Combining the M.S. with the necessary prerequisites will help students to develop the management and leadership skills needed to succeed in all types of organizations.

Entry Requirements  

  1. Completed Online Application
  2. Completion of the professional statement as described on the application
  3. Official transcripts from all colleges attended
    • Applicant must have completed, or will be completing, a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution with a cumulative index of 3.0 and a “B” average in the major field by the start date of the desired term.
      • An applicant who does not meet these grade point average expectations must address them in his/her professional statement; please see the Professional Statement section of the admissions application for further information.
      • Student must provide proof that s/he has taken a course in introductory statistics at the undergraduate or graduate level plus a course in principles of marketing at the undergraduate or graduate level (student may take MKT 507 as an elective in the program in lieu of the Marketing prerequisite).

  4. Two letters of recommendation

  6. Resume indicating 3-5 years of work experience

Student Learning Outcomes

1. Demonstrate the ability to identify and assess the internal and external factors and their potential impact on the strategic direction of the firm, as well as the ability to assess the impact of an organizational structure on the firm’s ability to achieve those strategic objectives.

2. Develop an understanding of management and leadership styles and their impact on individual and organizational performance, as well as the practices that contribute to the creation of a culture and work environment that fosters employee engagement and ethical business practices.

3. Synthesize knowledge and skills needed for effective communications as organizational managers and change leaders.
 

Elective Courses (9 credits)


Choose 3 courses from subjects MGT, HRM or HRD. Graduate courses in MKT may be taken with approval of advisor.
