International Business - Major

The international business program is part of the School of Management. The program offers a Bachelor of Science degree in international business. This program combines a professional discipline with a solid foundation in the liberal arts and sciences. The curriculum in this program is diverse and is rooted in the liberal arts tradition.

The goal of the international business major is to provide students with knowledge and skills needed to make meaningful contributions to organizations pursuing opportunities in the international marketplace.

Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate an ability to evaluate business issues from a global perspective, integrating the multiple business disciplines and the formulation of business recommendations.
  2. Demonstrate the skills needed by international business professionals: oral and written communication, social, technological, analytical, critical thinking and cultural competency.
  3. Demonstrate an understanding of the global business environment and the internal and external forces that shape the domestic and international marketplace.
  4. Develop and demonstrate a global perspective and the cultural competency required to successfully interact with individuals with different backgrounds and perspectives.
  5. Demonstrate an ability to understand and evaluate the ethical and moral issues related to doing business in a global business environment.
  6. Students will demonstrate the team building and collaborative skills to accomplish group tasks.
