Inclusive Childhood Education (grades 1-6) - Initial Certification

This Inclusive Childhood initial certification program is offered in a traditional format as well as via a Residency Program. See Inclusive Early Childhood and Childhood Education Program Information for details about applying, requirements, and certification.

Residency Program Fieldwork

Students in the residency program are required to complete at least 1,000 hours in their residency classrooms, which will include at least 250 hours in special education (either in their residency classroom or in another classroom).
Additional field work hours that are traditionally embedded in the inclusive childhood coursework is included in the 1,000 required hours and is not additionally required.
