Chairperson: Harry Murray, Ph.D. Professors: Kisiara, Ph.D., Murray, Ph.D. and Slowik, Ph.D.; Associate Professors: Sangarasivam, Ph.D. and McGann, Ph.D.

The sociology and anthropology department offers majors in sociology, anthropology, and social science, and minors in sociology, anthropology, multicultural studies, and social research.
Sociology looks behind the scenes to try to understand relationships between individuals and groups. Anthropology is the study of cultures across the boundaries of space and time. The social science major integrates five academic disciplines—anthropology, economics, political science, psychology, and sociology. While each program is different, all seek to foster an understanding and appreciation of the diversity among and within societies and cultures. In sum, they seek to prepare good world citizens.
