All programs are dedicated to the study of the human experience across time and space. The history program emphasizes that both we as individuals and the world in which we live are products of a long and complex development. The political science program deals with the intellectual issues involved with the exercise of political power. International studies challenges students to grapple with the complexities faced by the global community. Legal studies examines the role of law in diverse areas of social activity including business, non-profit sector, government and politics, public service and criminal justice. A well-rounded education offered by these programs enables students to develop the highest quality skills essential for success in all professional fields: critical thinking, strong communication abilities, a love of knowledge and learning, and a deep understanding of how the events of yesterday influence the world of tomorrow.
