All of the programs are dedicated to the study of the human experience
across time and space. The History program emphasizes that both
the world in which we live and we as individuals are products of a long
and complex development. The Political Science program deals with
the intellectual and ethical issues involved with the exercise of
political power. International Studies challenges students to
grapple with and help solve the complexities faced by the global
community while American Studies focuses on the interdisciplinary
examination of the cultures of the United States.
A well-rounded education enables students to develop the highest
quality skills of professionals in their fields: critical thinking,
strong communication abilities, a love of knowledge and learning, and a
deep understanding of how the events of yesterday influence the world
of tomorrow.
