GTE 550 - Introduction to Gifted and Talented Education


This course will focus on the domains of giftedness, theories of talents/intelligences, the nature and needs of students with gifts and talents, and introduction to systems/methods of identification. Includes study of the history and current status of gifted education with attention to cultural context and stereotypes. 25 hours of fieldwork required. Students must make their own arrangements for fieldwork with a local school district, and submit a verification report at the conclusion of the course.
