DAN 311 - Jazz Dance II Technique

For dancers at an Int/Adv level of jazz technique. Building upon concepts of alignment, style, poly-rhythms, isolations, and performance quality, we will focus on developing turns, jumps, leaps, and intricate rhythmic combinations. Class will integrate vernacular jazz, and the ever-changing influences of pop culture. DAN 311 will be graded primarily on movement participation/performance, and in addition, students will complete reading, writing, and theory components. Course open only to Dance majors and minors; and Musical Theatre majors and minors with approval/placement. Open to other students after registration week with permission of Program Director or Instructor. Course codes: C. Health and Wellness course.
