CSD 590 - Motor Speech Disorders


Foundations and applied knowledge of neuroanatomy and neurophysiology specifically related to the salient features, assessment, and treatment of individuals with motor speech disorders including the dysarthrias and apraxia across the life span. Those living with neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, ALS, Cerebral Palsy (among others) as well as childhood apraxia of speech are discussed. Applied knowledge of assessment and treatment is immediately translated into directly working with clients and is incorporated as an experiential learning component of this course. May be offered as a hybrid course.
