RES 369 - In the Beginning

Humanity has long held a fascination with the origins of the universe. Who were the first human beings? Why are there males and females? Christians, Jews, and Muslims have long shared a common textual history containing the stories of Adam and Eve, Noah and the flood, Cain and Abel, Abraham and Lot. In this course we will explore the texts of Judaism, Christianity and Islam as they relate to the origins of humanity and the created world, as well as the impact of evolutionary theory, creationism, and intelligent design for contemporary believers and non believers of these Abrahamic traditions. Course Codes: BR. Prereq: RES.Q 101.
