PSY 251 - Psychology of Women and Gender


This course introduces students to the psychological literature on women and gender. The course’s topics include an analysis of the causes of sex differences and similarities in abilities and personality; the influence of gender roles on psychological health, women’s relationships in families, portrayals of women in the media, the diversity of women’s experiences, gender and psychological disorders, violence in the lives of women and girls; and applied gender-related issues.
