MUS.Q 102 - Introduction to the Language of Music


(PEQ Visual Performing Arts) What is the significance of music in our lives? This course introduces elements of music such as pitch, melody, harmony, rhythm, timbre, and form, and considers the manifold meanings that music can convey, or has conveyed, in various cultural or historical contexts. Students will develop skills in listening, as well as in criticism or analysis, through engagement with a variety of musical styles. Course Codes: ABR. This PEQ course counts as a Global course.
