MED 102 - Introduction to Music Education


An exploration of various aspects of the music teaching profession with an emphasis placed on practical approaches to teaching both in the classroom and rehearsal settings. Topics include becoming a music teacher, developing tools for teaching, implementing the National Standards into instruction, teaching music in early childhood, reaching diverse learners, and developing a philosophy of music education. Students will present a teaching demonstration as part of the course requirements. Course Codes: AFJ. Prereq: MED*101. Co-req: MED*102L or MUX*102L. Bach of Music in Education majors only.
