INEC 514 - Language and Literacy Development in Early Childhood Education This course is designed for teachers of children birth through age eight including children with special needs and linguistically and/or culturally diverse children. The purpose of the course is to develop in-depth understanding of and teaching applications from current theory and research on early language and literacy development. Speaking, listening, reading, and writing will be studied as evolving, interrelated processes, developed in the overlapping, and sometimes conflicting, contexts of home, school, and community.
Prerequisites & Notes Only open to students in Graduate Inclusive Early Childhood additional certification program. Prerequisites: INCL 601, INCL 602 and INEC 510 Session cycle: Fall and Spring. Yearly cycle: all years.
