SOC 413 - PII Sociology of Social Movements


(Perspectives II course) What do fascism, feminism, civil rights, and environmentalism have in common? They are all social movements! This course asks why social movements arise, why people join, what tactics seem to work, and what the long term consequences of movements are. Learn about familiar social movements as well as some more obscure ones, such as the Wobblies, the John Birch Society, and the Father Divine Movement. Course Codes: BR. Prereq: SOC.Q 101.
