SWK 483 - Social Work Methods III


Builds upon the generalist social work knowledge, values and skills learned in SWK 383 and SWK 384. Provides an overview of the history of macro/community practice and the pioneers of social reform. Facilitates substsantive and effective preparation for social work action with organizations and communities through engagement, assessment, intervention and evaluation. Application of the conceptual framework of community organization models (locality development, social planning and social action). Emphasizes the community/neighborhood as the expert and the value and role of indigenous leadership in the action/target system.
