ENGL.Q 120 - The Ethical Life

(Perspectives Enduring Questions) This course explores enduring questions about the ethical life in selected literary texts through close reading, literary analysis, and argumentation. The course may investigate the following questions, among others: How do individuals act ethically in relationship to other individuals, groups, animals or other non-humans? What is justice and acting justly? What does it mean to be good? As do other P(EQ) courses in Literature, this class invites students to discuss these subjects and cultivate a lifetime practice of critical reading and literary understanding.
