MUS 630 - Masterpieces of Music Literature


A study of significant works of music literature of the standard repertoire. Coursework will include online listening, viewing videos, score analyses, readings, and independent research on select classical compositions from various historical periods. Weekly writing assignments will focus on your comprehension of the material, analytical skills, and writing ability. As part of the course, Music Education students are required to prepare a module for presentation on a composition of their choice that is appropriate for an elementary or secondary school.
