BIO 220 - Principles of Toxicology A comprehensive overview of the effects of chemicals (pollutants, pharmaceutical agents, etc.) on biological systems at the organismal level with emphasis on the effects of chemical exposure on human health. Topics include general principles of toxicology and pharmacology; the dose-response relationship; absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion; non-organ directed toxicity; target organ toxicity; risk assessment. Required for Toxicology majors only.
