SWK 602 - Social Work Practice III: Social Work Interdisciplinary Health Practice I

This course is the first course of the two practice Health Concentration courses. The course develops knowledge and advanced skills necessary to restore or enhance an individual and/or family’s adaptation to a physical or mental health condition or illness. The content teaches practice models and multi-level methhods for effective social work practice in mental health and health care, including clinical diagnostic assessment, intervention, skill development, and implementation. The course involves a strenths-oriented, family-centered approach through interpersonal, organizational, and environmental interventions. The intersections between and among public, physical and mental health conditions are explored.
