MUS.Q 102 - Introduction to the Language of Music


(Perspectives Enduring Questions) What is the significance of music in our lives? This course provides an introduction to the various elements that comprise the language of music, including pitch, melody, harmony, rhythm, timbre, and form. Students will develop various critical, analytical, and listening skills by interacting with a variey of music from a number of different societal and cultural contexts.

Prerequisites & Notes
Course Codes: BR. This P(EQ) course counts as a PI, W, and G course. May also be offered as MUS.F*102, which has the same course content but is taught as a seminar for First Year students.
