SWK 384 - Social Work Methods II/Field Experience II

This is the second of three courses in the practice sequence, which prepare students for generalist practice with systems of various sizes. Students learn the social work generalist practitioner model and engage in evidence-based practice. The course is focused on providing students with assessment and intervention, knowledge, theory, and skills across micro, mezzo, and macro levels of practice. In order to integrate the knowledge, theory and practice skills introduced in Social Work Practice II, students are in a supervised field placement/experience six hours each week in a human services agency. Through classroom discussions, students are supported in their personal/professional development, in their professional use of self, and in their abilities to integrate theory and practice.
