INAD 501 - Diverse Adolescent Learners and Learning This course is designed to explore the historical, social, and legal foundations of special education. Students will expand their understanding of the characteristics of diverse learners, including students with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and the educational implications. Topics addressed will include typical adolescent development and variations, and understanding and collaborating with families. Students will establish their professional electronic portfolio.
Prerequisites & Notes 30 hours fieldwork required (no field work requirement for students in the professional certification program). Course offered in the Fall and Spring semesters only. Corequisite: INAD 502 or INCL 602
