BIO 150 - Human Anatomy and Physiology I

The first in a sequence of two foundational courses in the structure and function of the human body. This course is designed as an elective for science majors (Biology, Chemistry) and is required by health profession majors (Physical Therapy, Nursing); it is offered every spring semester and during each summer session. A systems level approach is used to study general histology, and integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, and endocrine systems. The laboratory component of the course (BIO 150L) is a co-requisite that reinforces the principles learned in lecture (BIO 150) with hands-on experiences in human physiology using state-of-the-art digital instrumentation, computer simulations, and animal dissection.
