BIO 250 - PII Exercise Physiology & Life Fitness


(Perspectives II Course) Individuals interested in upgrading or maintaining their level of physical fitness and wellness or those who consider themselves to be competitive athletes must possess a foundation for understanding the importance of nutrition and energy transfer to maximize their potential for exercise and training. In addition to the basic principles of exercise physiology, a variety of additional contemporary issues will be offered to including: use of legal and illegal aids, cardiovascular fitness and disease prevention, training methodologies and fitness assessment. The course will be taught in a distance learning format manner. The laboratory portion of the course (BIO 250L), when offered, is a co-requisite that will be taught in a traditional laboratory (on-campus) setting.
