HIS 457 - Social Studies Curriculum and Methodology in Middle and High School


This course in History (grades 7-12) emphasizes assessment, New York State Learning Standards, curriculum, lesson planning, unit planning, strategies, methods, and materials. Focus includes differentiated instruction, interdisciplinary learning and collaborative models for teaching in an inclusive classroom. Prereq: ADOL*410 with grade of C or better. 40 hours of fieldwork required in greater Rochester area secondary schools during daytime instruction. All placements are made by Program Director, Office of Clinical Experiences and Partnerships. Students provide their own transportation.
