INAD 520 - Assessment and Program Planning for Adolescent Learners


Balanced assessment is an essential component of the teaching and learning cycle for diverse adolescent learners. This course will focus on developing an understanding of the types and characteristics of both formative and summative assessments as well as methods used within literacy and content areas for each type of assessment. The use of formative assessments to guide instructional planning, the assessment development cycle for creating valid teacher made assessments, and sound grading practices will all be explored in depth. 50 hours in Content Area (the aim for Grades 7 - 9) required for Initial Certification students; 25 hours in SPED (the aim for Grades 7 - 9) required for Additional Certification students and 25 hours in SPED (the aim for Grades 7 - 9) required for Changing levels students.
